Four people were found dead inside a home in an upscale Fayetteville neighborhood Monday night.
Fayetteville police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said officers were called to the scene at about 8 p.m. after one of the victim's in-laws discovered the bodies at 314 West Park Drive and called 911.
Several homicide detectives could be seen going into the home and a mobile headquarters was stationed in the street outside the home.
County property tax records show the home belongs to businessman William A. Maxwell Jr. and his wife, Kathryn F. Maxwell.
The couple has two children - a daughter, Connor, and a son, Cameron, according to friends of the family.
Connor, 17, is a senior at Village Christian Academy and Cameron, 15, is a freshman at the school.
The four-bedroom home is located in Haymount.
Police say a prominent Fayetteville businessman shot and killed his wife and two teenage children Monday night before killing himself.
Police said Billy Maxwell Jr., 47, shot and killed his family at their home at 314 W. Park Ave. about 8 p.m. The victims included his wife, Kathryn, and their two children - 17-year-old Connor and 15-year-old Cameron.
One of the victim's in-laws discovered the bodies and called 911.
