The Charlotte Bobcats' NBA basketball forward, Melvin Ely was robbed outside a Queen City strip club. Ely didn't apologize for being at the Carousel Club -- a strip club -- early that morning or for being a pathetic sex addict.
Ely is currently in Wilmington for camp but prior to leaving Charlotte, Ely went looking for his $30,000 worth of "pimp chain" and bobbles. Where else would he look? Why not the pawn shops?
Sure enough not only did a pawn shop have his stuff but one of the robbers came into the store while Ely was there.
Of course it pains me to say that a lot of the crime like this is avoidable, that is if you stay at home, go to bed at a proper time, and do as your mother says.
In this day and age when it is important to help others less fortunate, it is certainly exciting to see that Mr. Ely has found a stripper or two as deserving as some of the hundreds of thousands of hurricane victims or some of the 19 year-old, one-legged servicemen, who have returned home to a social security disability check and a flight of stairs.
